From both Indian and foreign cricketers, we have seen incredible individual performances throughout the history of the Indian T20 League.
This is a roller coaster ride you really want to miss. Up to the 16th edition, the list of players with the fastest fify in IPL in history follows here:
- Yashasvi Jaiswal
With 13 deliveries against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on May 11, 2023, he broke the previous record for the quickest half-century in the Indian T20 League, then shared by KL Rahul and Pat Cummins.
- KL Rahul
Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) bought KL Rahul at the 2018 Indian T20 League Auction for INR 11 crore, the third-highest price overall. In the team’s season opener in 2018, he scored the fastest 50 in Indian T20 League history against Delhi Daredevils (Delhi Capitals) in just 14 balls, hence breaking Sunil Narine’s record.
- Pat Cummins
Cummins, the present Australian Captain, put on an incredible exhibition of batting. Four boundaries and six sixes helped him to lead Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to a victory with 24 balls left, providing him a space in the list of fastest fifty in IPL. Cummins was also the third-fastest 50-run scorer in the Indian T20 League, scoring 50 runs in 14 balls.
- Yusuf Pathan
In the 2014 Indian T20 League season, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won the trophy for a second time. The victory depended in part on Pathan’s outstanding batting performance. Against the Sunrisers, he blasted a half-century off 15 balls, breaking records and ranking among the fastest 50-scorers in Indian T20 League history.
- Sunil Narine
After Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Gautam Gambhir’s main hitter Chris Lynn was injured, he decided to try Sunil Narine as an opening batsman in the early 2017 season. Moved up the batting order, Narine recorded the quickest 50 in Indian T20 League history. He evaded the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s bowling attack, scoring 50 runs in 15 balls, including four sixes and six boundaries, and so helping KKR win on RCB’s home ground.
These five batsmen top the list of the fastest half century in IPL and showed their magnificent batting skills in the Indian Premier League.
