Encore: Encore is perfect hybrid DPS in terms of being able to dish out both ranged and melee attacks, since she transforms into a melee powerhouse during her Ultimate, dealing most of her damage during this period. Her Ultimate combo is straightforward and forgiving, making her easier to play than characters like Calcharo on that regard, though she will have hard time parrying, which might be quite a deal-breaker for some players. Encore boasts one of the highest single-target DPS windows, but as of now, she does not have a well-synergizing sub-dps partner, except Sanhua. In short, Encore is a solid DPS and is highly effective in the Tower of Adversity, but her ideal team composition is a little lacking due to the existing roster of characters. DPS wise, she is similar to Calcharo, and ultimately players should pick either one of them depending on their preference in play style, or character design, if they are intending to pick a DPS character as their priority. We got to try a few different difficulty levels and while the first one was fairly easy, only requiring a few well-timed dodges to set up brutally efficient combos, the very next difficulty element resulted in a team wipe after an ill-timed party member swap. **Wuthering Waves employs a 3-unit combat system with a design focus on swapping between them at beneficial times ** during battle to maximize their synergies. It’s not ground-breaking, but the implementation is excellent – slowly building up a charge bar while using abilities and properly timing dodges allows players to then swap into a new unit that has an immediate effect upon entering the battlefield. We didn’t get a chance to really examine what those abilities are, but they seem to range from doing damage to setting up better positioning for a new skill in
